EXPUG™

The Assicarian response and opposition to RANREC.

Expug is governed by the great houses of the Assicari and headed by the Grand Guvernor. The chair of the grand guvernor rotates between the houses in a predetermined never-changing order. The tenure of the chair is either three, seven or nine years based on the relative economic strength of the house who is about to seat the chair. Only the strongest house gets the chair for nine years.

In principle the system is meritocratic. In practice the chair governs on the behest of the strongest Assicari house – and its overlord – to whom most of the lessor houses are indebted.
