There are rogue ranrecs in Ovi. Elders of the Rigaborum™ call them The Latrocinium: The defectors who betrayed their teachings and twisted it to serve their selfish wants and needs. RANREC officers call them Latros while a rank and file ranrec simply calls them “lats.”
Latros have shunned the nonlethal aspect of their brethrens and have become merciless mercenaries and pirates. Some will replace the handguard of their NLG with a bladed version ment for cutting and stabbing. Their grenade and rocket arsenal will often be replaced with explosive and incendiary versions.
Some might still use drones, but it will be more offensive drones meant for impacting, maiming and kamikaze purposes. Select few will have scavenged or stolen their former brethrens drones to form their own twisted Asio which serves as their personal henchman. They will use their React Suit™ offensively and will use any electroshock attack at maximum setting to cause swift electrocution.
Amongst each other, Latros will refer to themselves as “lats,” just like they used to before they defected. There is, however, no organisation behind The Latrocinium – no brotherhood. It is every man for himself. The only thing uniting them is a mock adoption of the RANREC mantra. The Latro mantra is: “Leave no captives.” No longer a peacekeeper, a Latro will use conventional firearms against nonranrec opponents. Knowing the weaknesses of the Thorus Shield™, Latros will get in close or use plastics, explosives and nonmagnetic projectiles against opposing ranrecs.
