Mechesh: A ceremonial shield which inspired the use of ferrotarg for ranrecs. The mechesh is perforated just like the magudo – sometimes in slits instead of holes. Just like the magudo, Umor can be channeled forth through the perforations.

The diameter of the mechesh ranges between the length of an underarm and the width of the wearers shoulder. There is a trade-off between speed, protection and ability to carry the mechesh. Traditionally a mechesh is worn on the back with a guige (shoulder strap).

Tenbo: When Umor is solidified through the mechesh then it is a tenbo. Solidified Umor looks like black ice with a neon blue glow. The glow pulses with the breath/heartbeat of the Riga-wielder.
