The Power of Riga
The Elders of Aecor have never discovered how or why, but somehow the ancestral DNA which arrived on Aecor was imbibed with the power to manipulate water. This power is called Riga. It was and is a rare gift among the ancestrals living on Aecor.
Civilization on Aecor emerged as one of the first across Ovi and it evolved the quickest. In a pre-civilization world, before properly understanding the technologies and blueprints from the Ancestors, Riga is thought to have given key individuals an edge. An edge by which the ocean planet and its lifeforms could be subdued and thus civilization leapfrogged.
Water is the foundation for life. All lifeforms consist of it and draw substenance from it. The power to manipulate water is the power to dominate life. Pre-civilization Riga-wielders understood this and understood the limits of it.
The limits of Riga
- While Riga can dominate an individual, it cannot control a galaxy.
- Without Will, Life is meaningless. Dominating a lifeform against its will is against Life itself. Domination through Riga is by extension evil.
With these insights in mind both the practically and ethically inclined rigaborum elders of Old could agree that controlling Ovi through the power of Riga would never be feasible. Their numbers would never be great enough and their reign would be antithetical to Life. Control of Ovi could only be acheived through the power of good deeds and protecting the sanctity of Life. The Rigaborum developed Kirial™ and RANREC™ to meet these goals.
Kirial™: The Ethos of Rigaborum
Kirial is founded on the sanctity of Life. At the core is the belief that no soul must ever be extinguished and no lifeblood must ever be spilled. It features very few prescriptions on what not to do. Instead it is a collection of ways, acts and deeds which are wise to follow.
Thaeens of Kirial™
People blessed with the power of Riga can perform amazing feats and utter acts of evil. The Rigaborum formalizes many of these feats as ways of life that are in tune with Kirial. These ways of life are called: Thaeens. The acts of evil are willfully omitted.

Healing
Flying
Very few extremely powerful Riga-wielders can form a disk of water upon which they can stand or sit. They can then move the disk in the direction they choose – similar to a flying carpet – for as long as they can channel it. That way they are flying.
Leaping and jumping
If it rains, Riga-wielders can solidify the water mid air which allow them to jump from solid water to solid water. They essentially create a staircase with steps of water and jump from step to step.
If water is abundant – like a lake or ocean – Riga-wielders can use their power to propel themselves forward with a water jet stream. They can either “swim” like a torpedo or leap from below to the surface
Even when water is non-existent and even when a Riga-wielder is not powerful, she can solidify a disk which can jolt them many feet into the air. This move is essentially a giant leap. Rigaborum guardians on planets with little water carry umor. There is enough umor to solidify a disk, hence guardiens use this move to leap at their opponents or jump extremely high just to land on top of an adversary from up high.
